〽️ LinkedIn Is Reducing the Reach of Low-Quality AI Content

LinkedIn announced on September 15, 2026, that more than one million members had used its new “Seems like AI slop”feedback option during the first two weeks after launch. LinkedIn says that, combined with stronger automation defenses, improved content classifiers, profile verification efforts, and new AI tools focused on proofreading rather than rewriting, views of content classified as AI slop have dropped by 40%.

This does not mean businesses should stop using AI. It means AI should support the content process instead of replacing the business owner’s experience, opinions, examples, and voice. A generic post about “the importance of hard work” is easy to ignore. A post explaining how a particular welding mistake caused a failed fit-up, how a shop solved a production problem, or what a customer should know before ordering custom fabrication provides information that is specific and useful. LinkedIn’s current direction favors that type of authentic professional perspective.

What this means for your business

Take one recent job, customer question, shop lesson, or industry experience and turn it into a LinkedIn post.

Use AI to help organize the idea, improve spelling, or tighten the wording. Then add details only you would know:

  • What happened

  • What problem you solved

  • What equipment or process you used

  • What you learned

  • What another business owner should do differently

Avoid publishing a completely generic AI-generated post without reviewing it. The goal is not to sound perfect. The goal is to sound knowledgeable, specific, and real.

For example, instead of writing:

“Quality fabrication requires attention to detail and proper planning.”

A stronger post would explain:

“On our latest bracket build, the first layout was technically correct but created a clearance problem during installation. We changed the order of operations, checked the mounting points earlier, and avoided having to remake the part. The lesson was simple: verify the installation environment before finalizing the cut list.”

That type of post demonstrates experience, teaches something, and gives potential customers a reason to trust the business.
