Behind the Project (Our Story)
A tribute to America's 250th birthday... built from scrap. Meet William Edgar of Team Second Shift and his sculpture, "The March."
We caught up with William at ScrapFest 16 to hear the inspiration behind his piece, how the iconic painting The Spirit of '76 influenced the design, and why this sculpture serves as a tribute to America's 250th birthday. As William describes in his sculpture statement: "Based on the drummer in the 1875 painting 'The Spirit of '76' by Archibald Willard, this piece goes to show how unlikely components can create masterful works when put in the right conditions. Good ideas persist, even as time marches on."
Check out the interview and hear the story directly from William.
