〽️YouTube Is Putting More AI Tools Directly Into the Creator Workflow

YouTube is continuing to build AI directly into the tools creators use to make and manage videos. In its latest creator updates, YouTube announced a conversational editing assistant powered by Gemini for Shorts and the YouTube Create app. Instead of simply asking AI to write a script, creators can use the assistant to help reorder clips, trim footage, synchronize music, and make changes through an ongoing conversation. YouTube is also testing AI powered comment moderation that can learn the style and preferences of an individual channel. blog.youtube

That is particularly interesting for welding and trade businesses because video production is often one of the biggest barriers to consistent YouTube content. A fabricator may have plenty of interesting work happening but not enough time to sit down and edit every project. Tools that can handle some of the tedious editing work could make it easier to turn everyday shop activity into useful videos. YouTube is also continuing to emphasize transparency around realistic AI generated or altered content, including more prominent AI labels and automatic detection systems. blog.youtube

What this means for your business

Stop waiting for a “perfect” video. The next time you're working on an interesting project, record a few short clips throughout the job. Save them. Even if you do not have time to edit them today, you are building a library of real footage that can eventually be turned into Shorts or longer videos with much less editing work.

Today's 5-Minute Task

Go through your phone and find three pieces of video you already have that could become content.

It could be:

A weld.

A fabrication project.

A machine running.

A finished piece.

A mistake.

A great outtake.

A before and after.

A funny moment in the shop.

Don't edit anything. Just find three clips and put them somewhere you can easily find them later.

You may already have your next three pieces of content sitting in your camera roll.

A quick Slag Tag Media thought

AI is becoming very good at helping with the work surrounding content. But the most valuable part of a welding business's content is still the thing AI cannot manufacture for you: your actual work, your experience and your story.

Use the technology to make creating easier. Keep the real business at the center of what you publish.

Slag Tag Media+ will keep watching these changes and translating the useful ones into practical ideas you can actually use.

Have a great day and keep up the great work!
